In addition to this Sunday’s lessons, our classes are decorating and personalizing Christmas cards for children hospitalized in Dell Children’s Hospital.
The focus of each classroom’s Sunday School lesson is listed below. For details about the lessons covered in Sunday School classrooms, please refer to the bulletin board outside of the Youth Education Office. There are take home handouts available next to the bulletin board so that parents can review and reinforce the Sunday lessons at home.

Youth Education News

Uniteen Quilt Fundraiser: Our Uniteens class will be selling tickets for a drawing for a beautiful quilt of choice made with love by Joan Howes, Mother of UCOH. Tickets are $10 each and a maximum of 25 tickets will be sold for each quilt. The Uniteens will have a sample seasonal quilt on display in the Foyer during ticket sales on Sunday, December 13 after the Services. A quilt would make a wonderful Christmas gift! The drawing for the quilt will happen after ticket sales conclude on Sunday December 13. The winner does not need to be present to win, and will be contacted if not present that day.

Real-Time Parenting Meet-up: The topic focus for the first two weeks of December is “Setting Expectations.” What does it look like to raise our children with the spiritual truths of the Unity movement and A Course in Miracles, paired with the time-proven wisdom of Love and Logic, using the 3 simple steps of the Language of Listening?
Join Sandy Blackard, award winning parenting author of Say What You See, and Jennifer Feiereisel, student and teacher of A Course in Miracles, for an inspired and solution-oriented discussion on how to consciously raise your children to be confident, happy and self-motivated.

Y.O.U. Mid-Year Rally: The Mid-Year Rally for the Youth of Unity South-Central Region will be held at Glen Lake Camp in Glen Rose, Texas the weekend of January 15-17. Early registration for this Rally is now open and will continue until December 21. Cost to attend the Rally is $160. After December 21, the cost to attend Rally will be $175 per person. Details are at unitysouthcentral.org or talk to Martin Dowman, Y.O.U. Sponsor.

YFM Christmas Celebration: We’re having Christmas parties in our Sunday School rooms during class time on Sunday, December 20. Refreshments will be served and then after both Services are over, Santa and his elves will be in the Lobby of Unity Oaks to give every child a special Christmas present! Parents bring your cameras for a great photo opportunity with Santa!

Christmas Eve Family Service: Join us for a special family-friendly version of our traditional Christmas Eve Candle Lighting Service at 5:30 p.m. Children are invited to come dressed as their favorite manger scene character—Mary, Joseph, angels, wise men, shepherds, animals, stars, and infants as Baby Jesus. Children will be invited to the stage to become part of a live nativity scene during the reading of the Christmas Story from the Gospel of Luke. Please note that there is no childcare provided during this Service. All ages are gladly welcomed to be a part of this sweet Service!

Loaner Costumes: If your child does not have a costume for the Christmas Eve nativity scene, the Youth & Family Ministry will have some costumes available to borrow. Stop by the Youth Education office on Sunday, December 20 to sign out a costume. All borrowed costumes should be laundered and returned by Sunday, January 3, 2015.

Youth & Family Volunteers: Thank you to everyone who responded to the call for Youth Education volunteers! We have filled almost all openings. We are still looking for angels to help out in the 9:25 Pre-K/Kindergarten class and the 9:25 first and second grade class. Please talk to Linda Hancock in Room 140.
