Loving Chocolate Moments: A Meditative Journey Through Love & Chocolate:

Treat yourself or a loved one to a Valentine’s box of chocolates with a special meditative twist!  Experience a different meditation about love and chocolate, written by our Youth of Unity, as you savor each of the three different kinds of exotic chocolate truffles (a total of nine truffles are  included).  These Parisian-style, handmade truffles are handcrafted by Dylesia Chocolatier in their  Culinary Center located in Austin. Dylesia has received numerous awards for its unique chocolates.  Only the finest ingredients are used to create memorable chocolates that are local, sustainable, and inclusive for all dietary needs.

A box of chocolates costs $22, tax included. Purchase two or more boxes at a discounted price of $20 each.  All proceeds benefit our Youth of Unity. Order your chocolates this Sunday in the Foyer, or you can order at anytime online at unityhills.org.  Chocolates can be picked up in the Foyer on Sunday, February 14.

Real-Time Parenting Meet-up:

The topic focus for the first two weeks of February is  “Spiritual Parenting Principles.” What does it look like to raise our children with the spiritual truths of the Unity movement and A Course in Miracles, paired with the time-proven wisdom of Love and Logic, using the three simple steps of the Language of Listening?

Join Sandy Blackard, award winning parenting author of Say What You See, and Jennifer Feiereisel, student and teacher of A Course in Miracles, for an inspired and solution-oriented discussion on how to consciously raise your children to be confident, happy and self-motivated.

Love offering.  Complimentary childcare is available in Room 135.

Sundays, February 7 & 14, at 10:40-11:20 a.m. in Room 131

Prayer Flags for Peace:

This year in observance of the Season for Peace, our Sunday School classes made Prayer Flags for Peace which are being displayed  around the Peace Pole in the front circle drive as well as around the arch entryway to the labyrinth.  We are grateful for our UCOH children and their heartfelt prayers!

I Choose Self-Control Boards:

This Sunday as part of our observance of the Season for Peace, we are continuing to introduce a new tool to our Sunday School classrooms. Self-Control Boards, which are provided by Conscious Discipline, empower children to identify and manage their emotions by consciously choosing strategies that help them shift their emotional states. These boards will be an ongoing part of our Sunday School classroom resources for children and adults to tap into whenever the need arises.

New YFM Prayer Box:

Thanks to the generous donation of Belinda Lightheart, our Youth Wing now has a lovely new wooden prayer chest. All of our Sunday School classes have had an opportunity to decorate the chest and it has been blessed by our prayer chaplains and children. The prayer box is located in the hallway across from the Youth Education Office.

Youth & Family Volunteers:

The Youth & Family Ministry is looking for Sunday School angels (teacher’s assistants). If you love children or are a child at heart, we want you! We currently have openings for both Services. Please talk to Linda Hancock in Room 140 to pick up a volunteer application.
