Based on the Sunday message from February 4: Healed Part 2 – Physical Well-Being
Spirit Group Discussion Questions
Question 1:
Rev. Robert Brumet states in his book The Quest for Wholeness:
“True wholeness occurs only when we are willing to use our experience of suffering as an opportunity to reevaluate our deepest beliefs and, ultimately, our lives themselves. Transformation occurs only when we are willing to be changed deeply rather than simply putting a patch on our existing self-image and belief systems.”
Is there a time in your life where you experienced suffering that brought you to reevaluate your life and then brought forth a deep change in your life? If so, would you share this with your Spirit Group?
Question 2:
Louise Hay shares how she forgave her step-father and her rapist through this practice of forgiveness.
Are you ready to forgive? We invite you to do this exercise with a partner or with the group.
Sit with your partner (or group) and say: “The person I need to forgive is _______ and I forgive ________ for _______.”
(Later, you can do it out loud when you are alone.)
Question 3:
Anita Moorjani, was diagnosed with stage 4 lymphoma which lead to a near death experience. After which, she shared in, Dying to Be Me: My Journey from Cancer, to Near Death, to True Healing: “I felt a level of victory. I’d so
completely overcome my fear of everything—from dying to cancer to chemotherapy—that this proved to me that it had been the fear destroying me. I knew full well that if this had been before my experience in the other realm, the very sight of the word poison in giant red letters labeling a drug that was coursing through my veins, coupled with the nurses all wrapped up in protective gear to avoid contamination, would have sent enough fear through me to kill me. The psychological effect alone would have finished me, for I knew how fear-filled I was before. But instead, I felt invincible. I knew that the decision to come back that I’d made on the other side completely overrode anything going on in the physical world.”
What role does fear play in your life and are you willing to release it to Something Greater?
Question 4:
Our entire Unity movement is founded on the healing power of prayer which Myrtle Fillmore embodied with such strength and force that others were healed as well. This spawned a healing prayer ministry that continues today over 130 years later.
Share your experience with the healing power of prayer with your group.
