Dear Friends,

Following Rev. Donna’s wonderful message on Faith on the First Sunday of Advent is the message of Peace this Sunday. When Mary and Joseph arrived in Bethlehem, the picture was hardly that of “peace.” The census had been called for by Caesar Augustus and folks were scrambling to their own cities to be registered. And yet, in the middle of all this turmoil, came Jesus’ birth – what appeared to be an inauspicious arrival of a most profound “picture of peace.” Pausing to reflect on this picture encourages us to “feel for” that peace especially in the midst of chaos in whatever form it may appear. The Prince of Peace is our powerful model for the Kingdom of Peace that dwells within and that brings ease and grace and healing to our lives. Let’s celebrate together this truth this holiday season.

With love and in peace,

Rev. Steve
