Our Transitional Minister
Rev. Cynthia Vermillion-Foster
Rev. Cynthia has been consulting with Unity ministries in the US and Canada for 15 years. She was the Regional Consultant for Unity Canada from 2007 to 2017 and is delighted to be serving in this role once again. Her support for ministries includes interim/transitional work, leadership development, strategic planning and conflict transformation. She is passionate about systems thinking, supporting cultural change, and creating spaces for communities to discover and express their full potential.
An ordained Unity minister of 26 years, Cynthia served as the Director of Member Services for Unity Worldwide Ministries where she oversaw all aspects of ministry services. She has served on multiple UWM teams including Credentialing, Standards, Ethics Reviews (was Chair for 2 years), and the Consultant Team.
With her husband, Rev. Don Foster, Cynthia served ministries in Hamilton, ON and Chantilly, VA. She is the 2016 recipient of Unity Worldwide Ministries’ Myrtle Fillmore Award and Unity Canada’s 2017 Northern Lights Award.
Cynthia has been trained in transitional ministry through the Interim Ministry Network, is a Healthy Congregations Facilitator, and is working on certification as a mediator through Conrad Grebel College in Kitchener, Ontario.
Cynthia’s first career was as a ballet dancer. The metaphors of dance and movement continue to inspire Cynthia on the spiritual journey which she views as an ongoing dance of discovery and growth.
