Creativity, Spirituality and the Common Good. This could easily be the tag line for Unity Church of the Hills, but it’s actually for an amazing event coming at the end of March called the New Story Festival, an event that is in total alignment with Unity principles. We are so excited to be sponsors for the New Story Festival and to be able to get out into the community and play with these extraordinary individuals. There are a variety of ways for you to plug in and participate. Keep reading.
What is the New Story Festival
The New Story Festival is a BOLD experiment for a better world, embodying imagination, spirituality, social action, and playful connection, with nationally-known headliners like Nadia Bolz-Weber, Charles Eisenstein, Carrie Rodriguez, Over the Rhine, and more, alongside dozens of local leaders, innovators, and artists! Our own Revs. Kristen & Brian Grandon will be presenting a talk on Saturday, March 30th. Their talk will feature music by Celebration so that New Story Festival participants get a full taste of the talent and wisdom offered by UCOH.
More purposeful than a music festival, more fun than a conference, and more holistic than a political rally (but with the best elements of each) – the inaugural New Story Festival will be held on the scenic campus of Huston-Tillotson University (900 Chicon St, Austin, TX 78702) Friday – Sunday, March 29 – 31, 2019.
Friday, March 29: 4:00 to 12:00 midnight
Saturday, March 30: 8:00am to 12:00 midnight
Sunday, March 31: 8:00am to 8:30pm

How Can I Get Involved
Attend the Festival
The New Story Festival wants to be accessible to all. That is why they are offering THREE ticket prices for the Festival. They are asking you to choose a price-level based on the resources you have available, the benefit you feel you’ll receive from this unique gathering, and your desire to support the work of community, creativity, and the common good. In addition, they have provided a promotion code just for Unity Church of the Hills congregants. This code will save you $20 off the ticket price (regardless of what pricing-level you choose). A small percentage of the ticket price will come back to UCOH to support your spiritual home.
Standard registration for the full three days is $249. Pay from the heart price options are $179 or $99. Day passes are available as well.
Purchase your tickets here and enter NSF1044 for the promo code at checkout.

Healing Arts Practitioners
Are you a Healing Arts practitioner? If so, there is a special “volunteer” opportunity just for you. In exchange for providing 6-8 hours of your gifts, you will be given a pass in your name for the festival as well as a 10×10 canopied space for you to share your gifts with festival attendees. If you are interested, please complete the Exhibitor application.
What better way to share the Unity message than surrounded by hundreds of like-minded individuals in a fun, vibrant space. We are in need of volunteers to assist us over the three days of the festival.
Compassionate Austin and the Co-op
Compassionate Austin is a growing grassroots movement united to promote, strengthen, and celebrate compassionate action in Austin, Texas and surrounding communities. The New Story Festival is their signature event where they will be formally rolling out the Compassionate Austin Co-op. The Co-op is a self-identified collective of both individuals and organizations (non-profits/businesses/schools/libraries/faith communities/civic groups/social activists, etc.) committed to enacting the Austin City Council’s Compassionate Austin Resolution promoting 3D compassionate action (caring for Others, Self, and the Earth) in the Austin community. You can learn more about the co-op and become a member by visiting Compassionate Austin Co-op.
