I’ve been attending UCOH since 2005. I attended the Unity Church in south Austin prior to joining this congregation.
I’ve been a volunteer in the UCOH bookstore consistently since 2006. I love it! I’ve served as a volunteer in our beautiful vegetable garden, as event staff when we’ve had guest speakers, on the In Reach team, the Financial Sustainability Task Force, Hands on Housing, Spirit Group Host, and – together with my other Master Mind sisters, as facilitator of an on-going MM group. I’ve volunteered to bake for special events. I also served on the interview Team when Rev. Steve was engaged. I’m currently working on the Ministerial Search Team. And, while we are not holding service at UCOH presently, I still consider myself a bookstore volunteer J
Volunteering really is a joy. It gives me a way to meet other people and serve the church at the same time. There is never a period when I’m not volunteering in some way. And, there is a place for everyone. I’d encourage anyone with a talent, or an interest, to think about volunteering.
UCOH is a special place with special people. There really is a lot of love here. Our work and mission are as relevant today, maybe more so, as when the movement started.
Thank you, Robena. UCOH is blessed by your presence in our community, and the spirit with which you so lovingly serve our spiritual home. Grateful only begins to express how deeply we appreciate you and your service. Congratulations on being chosen the Volunteer Of The Month for February 2021.
