Dear Friends:

Happy Holy Week! Yes, Palm Sunday marks the beginning of another Holy Week. My title this weekend is “Going the Distance.” Jesus the Christ was willing to do this – to do what was called for to prove the truth of immortality, a lesson that would bless all mankind.

The great yogi saint, Paramahansa Yogananda, wrote of Jesus’ entrance on that day, that it “inspires a beautiful symbology. Man’s consciousness is that city of Jerusalem; his thoughts and feelings are the inhabitants. Jesus’ coming into Jerusalem evokes the opening of the gates of man’s devotion to receive the entrance of Christ Consciousness, in its omniscient power, into the bodily kingdom, with all its citizens rejoicing: ‘Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.’”

“Going the distance” for us is symbolic of our inner commitment to seek first the Kingdom of God – God’s Love and Presence. See you in Jerusalem this Sunday!

In Love,

Rev. Steve
