The Holiday Extravaganza is a special holiday show, held on Sunday, December 13 – 6:30 p.m,  that features the talents of our wonderful spiritual community. 2015 is proving to be a very busy year, and although we want to definitely celebrate again this year with an Extravaganza, it is necessary, due to the 20th Anniversary activities in November, to go with an “Extravaganza Lite.” What that means is that rather than have a scripted show, incorporating songs and acts, we are choosing to do a musical review this year.
Our plan is to base all the musical numbers on Broadway shows, and will probably title the show something along the lines of “2015 Holiday Extravaganza: A Few of Our Favorite Songs,” with “My Favorite Things,” from the Sound of Music, as one of the group songs.

Although we plan to incorporate one or two dance numbers, the show will primarily be songs with connecting narrative.
If you have not performed in an Extravaganza before but would like to, we ask that you work up a song, preferably a Broadway song, and come let us here you. Below are some possible song ideas, but by no means limited to these songs. We are looking for solos, duets, trios, and ensembles. Our preference is to have only one song from any one show. The songs do not have to be holiday songs, although we will want to incorporate some.

When we do make the song selections, your help in providing information about the song and show will be greatly appreciated. It will facilitate the writing of the connective narration.
You will be expected to participate in the group songs and to attend 3-4 mandatory rehearsals held either on Saturday or Sunday afternoons prior to the performance.

Your Action Step: If you would like to audition, sign up for one of the 10-minute segments here. Please bring a CD or sheet music for accompaniment.

We’re looking forward to a great holiday season, and with your help, a wonderful Holiday Extravaganza!
We await your response.
