Elimination: My Favorite Twelve Power

The Twelve Powers, at first glance, may seem complex, but they are practical spiritual gifts that each person uses every day.  My favorite of the Twelve Powers is Elimination.

ELIMINATION is represented by the Disciple Thaddeus, the color russet and it’s center is located in the lower bowels.

ELIMINATION is our ability to release negative thoughts, feelings, and beliefs from our consciousness.  ELIMINATION is also the ability to forgive and release others and our ability to forgive ourselves.

Elimination is the least talked about of the 12 powers but it is incredibly important and we should be using this power each and every day.

Rocket Fuel for Spiritual Growth

Elimination is like rocket fuel for our spiritual growth!  Without Elimination of old ideas and beliefs we cannot move forward in our spiritual development.

Just as Jesus told us we can’t put new wine in old wineskins, we can’t pile new ideas on top of old beliefs that do not support those new ideas.  That just gets so darn messy.

I have seen many people who jumped head first into New Thought without doing the work to ferret out their old beliefs and when they ran into a problem they threw up their hands and said “This stuff doesn’t work!”   They never used their power of Elimination to see what old beliefs needed to be examined and released and which beliefs could be of use in their spiritual growth.

Don’t Think Negative Thoughts!

I know that some popular Law of Attraction teachers say don’t think and acknowledge negative thoughts, well guess what, unless a person was born raised in a vacuum, negative thoughts are in our heads and we have to figure out what those negative thoughts and beliefs are so we can use denials and affirmations and other tools to release them.   Just like our gardens can get overrun with weeds, thought weeds can over run our minds if we don’t take the time to get rid of the weeds regularly!

EWWWWW!

Take a moment to think back on a time when you were really constipated.  It affected every area of your life, right!  You didn’t want to go out or eat or anything! The same thing happens in our spiritual and emotional life when we don’t take the time to release our old thoughts and beliefs!  YUCK!

Why Elimination is important

It behooves us to delve into our subconscious thoughts and beliefs in order to further our emotional and spiritual growth. We don’t want constipated spirits!  Our success in anything we do is limited by our subconscious beliefs about ourselves—I can affirm myself up all day, every day, but if I haven’t released my negative or old beliefs beforehand, I will have limited success.

We need to pay attention to thoughts and beliefs so we can begin sorting which beliefs serve our highest good and further our spiritual path and which beliefs are holding us back.

How to identify your limiting feelings and beliefs

Think about something you really want to accomplish or have and hold that in your mind.  Take a moment to think about your desire, breathe in and really see it accomplished.  Observe how your body is feeling, did it tense up in any area?  Did you get a pit in your stomach at the thought of what you really wanted?  What was your mind chattering about when you focused in on your desires?  Did you like what you heard and felt?

This process will help you uncover some of those beliefs that you no longer wish to have. Now that you’ve identified them, what do you do with them?

Let’s take a moment and talk about Denials and Affirmations!

Denials are a way to take the thoughts and beliefs we no longer want and release their hold on us by declaring that they no longer have any power over us.  Then we create an affirmation to replace the old thought.  Pull the weed, plant the seed!

For example, if my dream was to go to back to school, the thought stopping me might be: “I am too old, it will cost too much, are you crazy, you can’t handle all that school work!”

A Denial and Affirmation for this thought might be, “Even though I once thought I was too old to return to school, this is not the truth of me.  I affirm that I am one with Spirit, my body and mind are quickened in Spirit and I easily have the strength and energy to attend school and accomplish my dream.”

I would use this denial and affirmation again and again until I felt a shift in my energy.  I would continue to monitor my thoughts and feelings to see if I need to expand or change my denials and affirmations.

If we daily employ our power of Elimination and figure out what thoughts and beliefs we harbor through the use of denials and affirmations, we are catapulting our spiritual growth to new heights.  We will easily weed out that which no longer serves us or our highest good.

Can you imagine if your road blocks to spiritual growth suddenly became little speed bumps, easily overcome with just a little attention!  I invite you to learn more and embrace and employ your God given gift of Elimination.
