At Unity Church of the Hills, we offer both Spiritual Counseling and Practitioner Sessions. Both are deeply rooted in prayer and you can learn about both styles of support by reading below. You will also find a list of our Spiritual Counselors/Practitioners. To book a session, please call the front desk at 512-335-4449.

What is a Practitioner Session?

An Agape Licensed Spiritual Practitioner (ALSP) session, commonly known as a Practitioner session, is similar to other types of professional counseling and coaching, except that as ALSPs, we apply prayer and spiritual principle to our work. We start with the idea that the client is already whole, and our work is to assist them in revealing that perfection.

Each spiritual counseling session begins with prayer and an intention, and ends with a six-step affirmative prayer, which is a scientific form of healing. In this field of prayer, the Practitioner assists the client in realizing the Spiritual Truth about their life, thus releasing false beliefs and limitations. A session may include life visioning or a period of meditation. The Practitioner may ask the client questions to help them uncover their inner truth and discover the Divine Pattern that is at work in their life. The session is not about giving advice about life situations, but rather about Spiritual Truth and the freedom that comes from realization when false ideas and beliefs are transmuted. Clients experience more clarity, vitality, ease, joy, fulfillment and peace.

A Practitioner session typically lasts about an hour. Practitioners maintain a strict ethical code of confidentiality with clients. What is shared is never discussed with anyone (except where legally required by law to report certain events).

Practitioner sessions are offered at UCOH on a love offering basis.

Benefits of working with a Spiritual Practitioner include:

  • Peace of Mind
  • Inspiration and Inner Fulfillment
  • Living the Life You Envision
  • Clarity of Thought
  • Direction
  • Healing and Transformation

What is Spiritual Counseling?

Unconditional love and support offered in a safe place; an experience of compassionate listening and gentle guidance.

Insightful assistance to help one remember the truth of their being, thereby becoming empowered to access their Divine guidance.

Spiritual Counselors are here to assist you in focusing on solutions based on the practice of the Presence of God. We believe in the transformative power of prayer. Spiritual Counseling is not psychotherapy. It is designed for short term support. Referrals can be provided upon request.

Belinda Lightheart, LUT

Belinda LightheartFrom a very early age, Belinda has known that a Presence greater than herself is the Source of all that is. She spent decades studying a variety of spiritual teachings and found the unwavering Truth of ancient wisdom at the root of all of them. It is through the teachings of Unity that she found ancient wisdom presented in such a clear manner that she knew she had found her spiritual home.

During the more than four decades she has been involved in Unity she has trained and served in many capacities. Twelve years ago she went to Colorado, trained as a Unity prayer chaplain and served as a trainer and prayer chaplain for ten years. Seven years ago she completed a five year program to become a licensed Unity teacher (LUT) and continues to serve in that capacity today. Currently she is on the path to becoming a licensed and ordained Unity minister.

The training that she has received as a prayer chaplain and LUT coupled with a wide variety of life experiences lend to her ability to serve as a compassionate and caring Spiritual Counselor.

Each session lasts for about fifty minutes and is held in sacred confidence.
